Congregation 'Schwestern des Erlösers' Würzburg

The mother house in Würzburg is the spiritual center of the community and offers living space for the sisters of the Congregation "Sisters of the Savior".

Further representations next to Würzburg in Unterfranken are in North America (Pennsylvania) and Tanzania.

From the history of the order:

In the middle of the nineteenth century, when the industrialization brought social problems and problems to many people, <link http: www.alfonzamariaeppinger.com external-link-new-window external link in new>Elisabeth Eppinger in Bad Niederbronn in Alsace felt called by God, to provide help to the poor, sick and children together with like-minded young women. I.a. in order to preserve the work of the sisters of the diocese of Würzburg, Bishop Georg Anton von Stahl founded an <link http: www.erloeserschwestern.de external-link-new-window external link in new>independent congregation on 15 June 1866.

Already starting from 1854 a local branch in Würzburg was erected, however in the year 1945 by British bombs attacks destroyed. After the end of the war the reconstruction took place, so that the church could be consecrated again in 1952.

Due to the increasing number of years of activity of the religious nurses, reconstructions were necessary in order to adapt the building to today's standards without - at the same time - making major changes to the visual appearance of sacred architecture. The construction of a kitchen with an open view into the inner courtyard of the mother house took place at the end of 2011, planned by <link http: www.gkt-architekten.de external-link-new-window external link in new>GKT Architects.

The HAHN Louvre Windows type S9-iVt-05 can be used to ensure rapid ventilation while 230V actuators with integrated finger trapping protection are predestinated for fine adjustment of opening just according the current demand.

Convinced by the use of louvres in the connecting duct, the stairwell was subsequently equipped with the same window type. 75 HAHN Louvres - some of them also with manual operation by hand levers - ensure fresh air and rapid evacuation of odors, which inevitably form in a kitchen construction. As per the client’s request, upper and lower part of units can be operated separately for a targeted air supply. Even in wind and draught when a standard casement window wing is getting dangerous, the full opening area of a Louvre Window can be used: Just avoid one possible risk easily.
